LIZ McCARTHY

Liz McCarthy founded GnarWare Workshop after finishing her MFA at UIC. Her practice combines non-traditional ceramic methods with performance and photography. She received a BFA from University of North Carolina at Asheville, where she first began dabbling in clay. She regularly exhibits her installations and performances throughout the city and beyond, in the fall of 2017 she is shared her “Whistle Hangout” performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and created an interactive clay installation entitled “The Pen” at the Riverside Arts Center. She also teaches classes for children with Marwen, SkyArt, and C.A.P.E.

BRYAN DUNBAR

Bryan recently relocated to Chicago from Richmond, VA. He recieved his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Craft and Material Studies in 2017, with a focus in Ceramics. Bryan has a background in ceramic studio facilities management, studio production pottery, and woodworking. Currently Bryan is trying to figure out the Chicago grid system and make friends.

MANAL KARA

Manal Kara is a self-taught artist based in Chicago, IL and Gary, IN, working in various media including ceramics, video, installation, tattoo, drawing, and poetry.

       NATALIE STEINMETZ

Natalie is a Chicago-based ceramicist. Natalie has her BFA in Fine Arts from Columbia College Chicago. She has spent the past decade working as a studio artist and ceramics instructor.  Natalie currently teaches classes at The Takiff Center in Glencoe IL. Her work is recognizable for it's graphic surface treatments, ranging from the dark and creepy to fanciful floral patterns. Natalie exhibits nationally and her work can frequently be found at galleries and exhibitions throughout the country.
